Roster’s referral link features make it easy for ambassadors to share their links and track results of their brand advocacy efforts. With these updates, you can now access your primary referral link, create custom link variants for specific channels and/or products, and manage your link variants—all from your ambassador account. This guide will walk you through viewing your referral link stats and creating link variants to help you track and optimize your referrals.

View your referral link stats

  1. Log in to your Ambassador account on Roster.

  2. Navigate to the Referrals tab from your dashboard.

  3. At the top, you’ll see your referral stats for a specified date range. Use the dropdown to select any date range to view detailed metrics like referral count, points, commissions, and payments.

Copy Your Primary Referral Link

  1. Scroll to the Referral Link section.

  2. You’ll see a link with your brand’s name and your referral ID. This is your primary referral link. Visitors using this link will be directed to the brand's website, and all referral activity will be tracked under this link.

Referral Link Features

  • Attribution Window: Most referral links have a set attribution window (e.g., 30 days), meaning any purchase made within this time after a click will be credited to you.

  • Customer Discount: In some cases, your link will automatically apply a discount for customers at checkout—no code needed.

  • Referral ID: If your brand has this feature enabled, you can customize your referral link ID, which is the portion of your referral link that uniquely identifies you.

View Your Referral Link Stats

  1. Click on the three dots next to your primary referral link.

  2. Select View Link Stats to see a breakdown of metrics specific to this link.

  3. This will take you to a page specifically showing stats associated with your referral link (and link variants). It excludes any referrals, rewards, and payments that came from other methods like shareable discount codes.

Create a Link Variant

Link variants allow you to track referrals from different channels or links you created for specific products or collections on the brand's website. Link variants replace the previous custom referral link feature described here.

  1. Go to the three dots menu next to your primary referral link.

  2. Select Add Link Variant.

  3. In the new window:

    • Add a label: This is for your reference only (e.g., “Instagram” or “TikTok”).

    • Choose a link destination:

      • Homepage (default): Directs users to the brand’s homepage.

      • Custom page or product: Paste a specific URL, such as a product or collection page, if you want the link to direct to a specific brand page.

  4. Click Create. You can now copy this variant to use across different platforms, and all clicks and referrals will be tracked separately under the variant name.

View Your Link Variant Stats

  1. Under Variants, find a list of all link variants you’ve created

  2. Within each link variant card, you will see the clicks and referrals attributed to the each variant.

Archive or Delete Link Variants

  • To delete a variant with no clicks or referrals, simply click the delete icon.

  • To archive a variant that has one or more clicks and/or referrals, select Archive to remove it from the active list while still allowing tracking if it’s clicked in the future.

  • Archived link variants can be found in the Archived section at the bottom of the page.

  • Additionally, archived link variants can be unarchived.

Additional Support

If you don’t see these options for creating variants, your brand may not have enabled Smart Link features. Reach out to your brand’s support team or email Roster support at [email protected] for assistance.
